Successful test for the combined event
The individual competition at the World championship of modern pentathlon Youth “A” for boys and girls in Albena ended with the increadibly attractive new event, combining the running and the shooting.
The starting order of the athletes was defined by their results in the swimming and in the fencing. After the start and after every 1000 m the competitors had to make 5 shots and every missed target brought them 10 seconds penalty.

By the girls, the first place took Joanna Gomolinska from Poland with 4320 points, followed by Barbora Kodedova (CZE) with 4280 points. The big triumph was for Jihan El Midany from Egypt, who started from the 16th place and with incredible running and only one missed target by the shooting managed to reach the bronze.

In the boys competition, Alvaro Sandoval finished first with 4712 points, followed by Christopher Patte (FRA) with 4692 and Steven Mason (GBR) with 4640 points.
